How DBSS Works
Here's what to expect from start to finish.
Create an account
Create an account to start your negotiation
Invite your counterparty
Send them an invitation. They'll need to accept before anything else begins. If your counterpart does not accept the invitation, nothing will occur.
Agree on a Release
You'll agree on whom is being released, not the amount yet - that happens in the negotiation. But you must agree on what will be released before you can agree on a dollar amount. It is like agreeing on the exact car to be purchased before you negotiate the price of the car.
A release means that the claim or case is fully concluded and can never be asserted again in the future.
Create your case
After the release is approved (who will be released if settlement occurs) set up the case complete the participation agreement, pay $100.00, and negotiate.
Negotiation
Both parties submit their settlement positions confidentially. Neither side sees the other's offer, unless revealed.
Resolution
The amount of the settlement will be placed in the release. You will sign the release and the settlement letter.
